OA Caseworker Competency Framework
The Ombudsman Association has launched a Caseworker Competency Framework, establishing a best practice model for the Association’s members.
The Framework is the product of a detailed research and consultation exercise and follows on from the publication of the OA’s Service Standards Framework in 2017.
It was developed by a Working Group of individuals from a cross-section of sectors, geographies and professional backgrounds, including caseworkers and learning and development professionals, and following a public consultation.
The Framework identifies the key capabilities that a caseworker needs to be successful and is intended to support the development of the caseworker profession and guide the way that caseworkers approach their role, including the way they make decisions and interact with others.
We are very grateful to all those involved in the project and those who responded to the public consultation to shape the Framework.
