The Ombudsman Association's Caseworker Competency Framework sets out a best practice model for the Association’s members.
The Framework identifies the key capabilities that a caseworker needs to be successful and is intended to support the development of the caseworker profession and guide the way that caseworkers approach their role, including the way they make decisions and interact with others.
The publication of the Framework in 2018 followed a detailed research and consultation exercise led by a Working Group representing a cross-section of sectors, geographies, and professional backgrounds, including both caseworkers and learning and development professionals, and followed a public consultation.
The Caseworker Competency Framework compliments the OA’s Service Standards Framework, which was published in 2017.
